Tune-Ups & Maintenance

Small problems are cheap. Big ones aren't.

Most AC breakdowns start as something small: a capacitor that's drifting out of spec, a drain line that's half clogged, a coil that's getting dirty, a wire connection that's starting to burn. A checkup is how those get found on a mild day in April instead of the hottest night in August.

On the coast there's one more thing to watch: corrosion. Salt air works on outdoor coils, fins and electrical connections all year long, and a checkup is when it gets caught early.

Every checkup comes with documentation: readings, photos and notes on anything that needs attention, so you can see it for yourself and decide what to do. Want them twice a year without having to remember? That's what the Club Membership is for.

★★★★★

“Called to book our spring AC check up and the woman who answered the phone was very courteous and friendly and worked with our schedule. Our technician showed up right on time, did a thorough job and let us know what he was doing every step of the way. He was very professional and friendly and gave us some helpful suggestions. We will definitely call on them again, should the need arise. Highly recommend.”

Tune-up questions

How often should I get my AC serviced?

Twice a year is ideal here: once in the spring before the cooling season and once in the fall before you need heat. That's exactly what the Club Membership covers.

What's the difference between a tune-up and a repair visit?

A tune-up is preventive: we check the whole system while it's working. A repair visit is for something that's already wrong. Checkups are how you get fewer repair visits.

Do you rinse the outdoor unit?

The outdoor coil gets checked for dirt and salt buildup on every checkup, and we'll tell you if it needs a cleaning. Between visits, a gentle rinse with a garden hose helps on the coast.

Will a tune-up lower my electric bill?

A clean, correctly charged system with good airflow runs less to do the same job, so it often helps. A dirty coil or low charge can make the system run much longer than it should.
